Should the Langley Events Centre be filled to capacity for the Vancouver Stealth's home finale on April 23

The owners of the Vancouver Stealth and the Saskatchewan Rush have pledged to donate $5,000 each should the Langley Events Centre be filled to capacity for this Saturday’s National Lacrosse League game.

The money will go to the B.C. Lacrosse on the Move Fund which was set up in partnership between the Stealth and the B.C. Lacrosse Association to raise money for grants for teams travelling to provincials and provincial athletes heading off to nationals.

“Supporting Lacrosse in British Columbia is always a high priority with the Stealth, as the funds go directly towards growing the game and future stars of the NLL.

“We are very grateful for Bruce Urban’s donation on behalf of the Rush franchise, and I hope we both have to write a cheque come Saturday night,” said Stealth owner Denise Watkins.

“B.C. is a hot bed for future NLL athletes. Having the Stealth play out of Langley gives Vancouver and its surrounding areas access to the one of the greatest sports in the world,” said Bruce Urban, the Rush’s owner.

“It’s extremely important for the lacrosse community in each NLL market to really rally behind their professional team because together, we can take the sport to new heights. I am pleased to make a financial contribution to the British Columbia Lacrosse Association in the event the Stealth are able to sell out their final regular season home game this weekend.”

The game is at 7 p.m. and is the Stealth’s final home game of the season.

All kids wearing their minor lacrosse jerseys will get in for free, as long as they have a paid adult with them. There will also be more than $3,500 in gift cards given away and Stealth game-worn jerseys and replica jerseys handed out to lucky fans.

And fans who have tickets to the game will also receive free admission to the Langley Food and Wine Show running Saturday and Sunday at the LEC.
