Second spot for CSS curlers

Chilliwack secondary school started 0-2 but won their next five to place second at the provincial high school championships.

The Chilliwack secondary school senior girls curling team started slow but finished fast, taking second spot at last weekend’s 2013 BC High School Curling Championships.

The event was held in Kamloops.

The CSS girls dominated their final five games to finish 5-2 overall, one spot behind North Delta’s Seaquam secondary.

That’s the highest placing for CSS in this event since 1993.

This year’s team consisted of skip Kirsten Zucchet, lead Jasmin Jani, Everly Royea (second) and Cailin Cooke (third). They were coached by Doreen Jones and Stephanie Prinse.

Zucchet and Cooke will be joined by Coquitlam’s Dezaray Hawes and Angelique Miller, representing the Chilliwack Curling Club at the Juvenile Provincials. That takes this weekend in Prince George.
