Rugby girls mangle Maple Ridge

The Sardis Falcon rugby girls haven't lost a game since their season opener, running off four straight as a first-year team.

Sardis secondary school's girls rugby squad continues to roll in their first season.

Wednesday afternoon, the Falcons bombed Maple Ridge 41-10, running their winning streak to four games.

For the third time this season, Ashley Heisler bagged three tries in a game. Heisler has 10 tries in four games overall.

Makayla Duval, Jessica Fader, Sierra Hunter and Kelsea-Rae Clemons also scored five pointers, with Hunter adding three converts to round out the scoring.

Tyra Phillips, Samantha Gauthier, Kirstin Parasiliti and Jessica Muxlow turned in strong perfomances at forward, with Duval, Sarah Muxlow and captain Tori Kuhn playing steady on the back line.

Sardis hosts Yale next Wednesday at the Yarrow Sports Field, with a 4 p.m. start time.
