Chilliwack FC’s men’s Pacific Coast Soccer League squad is making a run.

With a 1-0 home-field win over first place West Vancouver FC on Sunday, the locals have moved into seventh spot in the eight team circuit.

They need to vault over three teams to reach the top four and a playoff spot.

The only goal in Sunday’s game came midway through the first half, off the foot of striker Jaye Amberg.  Scott Delcourt got the helper with a perfectly placed pass off a free kick.

The teams traded chances in the second half, with Chilliwack keeper Jon Vugteveen making a couple huge stops.

The goaltender recorded his first clean-sheet of the season.

The Chilliwack backline of Kyle Rawlek, Zac Hansen, Nick Haywood and Jordan Lam bent but did not break, keeping the blue chip chances to a minimum.

Chilliwack returns to action Saturday, hosting Richmond’s TSS Academy in a 2 p.m. start at Townsend Park.
