Chilliwack's Aaron Pauls had a rough round four to finish 57th at the BC Amateur Golf Championship.

Chilliwack's Aaron Pauls ended up in a tie for 57th overall at last week's BC Amateur Golf Championship.

The The tournament is being played on two golf courses, the Springs Course at Radium (in Radium Springs) and the Copper Point Golf Club (in Windermere).

Pauls, a standout with the University of the Fraser Valley golf team, started out well enough, shooting two-over-par 73s in rounds one and two.

He slipped in round three, carding a four-over-par 75, then struggled mightily in round four, shooting an eight-over-par 79.

That included double-bogies on the first, second and 14th holes.

His four round total of 300 left him 28 strokes behind tournament winner Charlie Hughes, who shot a 12-under-par 272.

Two other Chilliwack natives failed to go the distance, with Matt Gudmundson and Scott Benstead missing the cut after two rounds.
