McLellan loses tournament title in playoff

Chilliwack golfer Connor McLellan lost to Swan-E-Set's Tom Bang in a sudden death playoff Sunday at the Royalwood Golf and RV Resort.

The fifth stop on the Zone 3 Spring Golf Tour was held Sunday at Chilliwack’s Royalwood Golf and RV Resort.

The course was in great condition and proved to be a real challenge to the largest field this season.

Competition was fierce, and a playoff was required to settle top spot.

Chilliwack Golf and Country Club’s Connor McLellan and Swan-E-Set’s Tom Bang both shot one-under-par 71’s to finish tied through 18 holes.

Bang took the title on the first playoff hole.

David Lee (Pitt Meadows Golf Club) and Marcus Brown (Players Club) tied for second, both shooting even par 72’s.

A three way battle for third included Chilliwack’s Steven Scurr (CG&CC), who shot a one-over-par 73 to tie Cole Briggs (Players Club) and Ian Kim (Hazelmere).

Kaleb Fisher (CG&CC) shot an 80 to finish 27th.

Bradley Lagematt (CG&CC) shot an 82 to finish 34th.

Devon and Nathan Bahnman, both representing the Cultus Lake Golf Club, shot 84’s to tie for 41st in the 59 golfer field.
