The Valley Huskers saw a three-game winning streak snapped Saturday night as they fell 35-19 to the Langley Rams.
The B.C. Football Conference clash was played at Langley’s McLeod Athletic Park as the Rams (3-3) beat the Huskers (4-2) for the second time this season.
Langley rolled up 473 yards of total offence, most of it through the air. Quarterback Duncan Little completed 18 of 29 passes for 333 yards against the Husker secondary, chucking touchdown tosses to Jevon Cottoy, Sheldon Gangloff and Nick Agnoletto.
Cottoy caught five balls for 123 yards.
The Rams running game churned out 143 yards, led by Max Joseph, who carried 11 times for 85 yards and a major.
After two big weeks in back-to-back wins over Kamloops, the Husker offence struggled to get on track against a stout Langley D.
The running game generated 18 yards on 15 carries.
Quarterback Julian Wytinck, not the most mobile pivot on the planet, led all Huskers with 14 yards (on seven carries) and a touchdown run.
Wytinck’s arm accounted for 317 yards through the air, as he completed 28 of 46 attempts.
He connected with Anthony Dyck and Brandon Poulin on touchdown tosses, and Remis Tshiovo led all Husker pass catchers with 91 yards on eight catches.
Simon Winsnes was a bright spot for the Husker defence. The defensive back intercepted a pass and returned it 48 yards. Jordan Farry and Harry Sommerville both had fumble recoveries.
Josh Robinson led the D with six solo tackles.
The Huskers play their third straight road game this weekend, traveling to Kelowna to face the Okanagan Sun at the Apple Bowl Saturday night.
