GW Graham hosted a senior girls tournament last weekend featuring four of the top AAA teams in the province along with two elite AA squads.

The Grizzlies went 1-2 with a 73-56 win over Valleyview (Kamloops), falling to Kelowna (88-57) and Abbotsford’s Robert Bateman (79-66).

A young and talented Semiahmoo squad won the championship.

While Deanna Tuchscherer was her usual dominant self, younger sister Julia Tuchscherer is starting to steal some of the spotlight.

Julia averaged 25 points and 14 rebounds per game, using her size to dominate in the paint. Kennedy Hall had a strong tournament, pulling down several rebounds as a disruptive post presence.
