The seventh annual Impact 7-Aside Soccer Tournament returns to Chilliwack May 6.

Two divisions and up to 24 teams will hit the pitch at Fairfield Island Park, raising money for the Cyrus Centre’s emergency youth shelter.

The family-friendly day includes games and a bouncy castle for the kids and food for all.

Started in 2011 as a backyard tournament that raised $700 for the Canadian Cancer Society, last year’s tourney raised more than $29,000 for the Ann Davis Transition Society.

This year’s beneficiary, the Cyrus Centre, provides homeless youth 18 and under with a temporary, safe place to stay while working toward a long-term solution. The centre prioritizes basic needs, including meals, medical attention and clean clothing.
