High schoolers competing in curling qualifier

Three local teams are in Maple Ridge today and tomorrow for Fraser Valley East high school playdowns.

Two Chilliwack high schools have teams competing at the Fraser Valley East playdowns that started today and continue tomorrow in Maple Ridge.

Chilliwack secondary school sent the quartet of Kirsten Zucchet, Caillin Cooke, Everly Royea andJani Jasmine.

Sardis secondary school sent a girls team skipped by Sierra Hunter and a boys team skipped by Jamie Stroomer.

Several of them are part of the Chilliwack Curling Club’s junior program.

Meanwhile, Lisa Deputan looks to create  a kerfuffle at the BC Senior Womens’ Lower Mainland playdowns in Coquitlam. The playdowns started today with Deputan, Janet Klebe, Laura Wigham and Jane Adam gunning for a spot at the BC Senior Womens Championships.
