Heath hopping at ladies bonspiel

The Chilliwack Curling Club wrapped up their annual ladies bonspiel last weekend, with Vernon’s Sherry Heath rink defeating Bev Bailey’s North Vancouver crew in the A final.

Twenty-seven teams participated in the bonspiel.

Aretha Westenenk’s rink downed the Sharon Worley rink (North Vancouver) in the B final. An all-Chilliwack C final had Janet Wiebe’s crew downing Sue Herman’s rink.

CCC hosts the ICBC bonspiel this weekend, with 24 teams visiting from around the province.

In other curling news, the Chilliwack and Sardis secondary school boys and girls teams will participate in the Fraser Valley Championships in Maple Ridge on Feb. 7-9, with the winner moving on to the B.C. High School Championships (Richmond, Mar. 10-12).

CCC’s juvenile girls (U-16) have already qualified for provincials, taking place in Cowichan Lake Mar. 3-6.
