GW Graham volleyball Grizzlies qualify for provincials

The Grizz finished second in the Fraser Valley playoffs, losing to Langley in the final.

GW Graham’s senior girls’ volleyball squad will play for a B.C. title after finishing second in Fraser Valley playoffs.

The Grizzlies sewed up a provincial spot last Thursday night when they toppled the Langley Saints in a huge home-court win.

But because Valleys were a double-knockout format, Langley was able to come back the next night and beat GWG in a thrilling five-set final.

Abigail Vandop and Danielle Klassen were named Fraser Valley all-stars.

Their team will be the eighth seed in a 16 team provincial field, with the tourney running Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 at Crofton House in Vancouver.
