GW Graham Grizzly tournament welcome's basketball's best

The Invitational Showcase features a stacked field on the senior boys and girls side.

GW Graham hosts its annual Showcase Invitational basketball tournaments this week, starting Thursday morn.

GWG’s senior boys play their opener at noon, taking on Richmond’s H. J. Cambie Crusaders.

The rest of the stacked 12 team field includes two teams from Kamloops, the Westsyde Whundas and Sa-Hali Sabres.

Vancouver sends two with the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints joined by the King George Dragons.

The Fulton Maroons (Vernon) and South Okanagan Hornets (Oliver) visit from the Okanagan while Mill Bay’s Brentwood College comes over from the Island.

The Duchess Park Condors hail from Prince George, the Delview Raiders from Delta and the Pacific Academy Breakers from Surrey.

The boys title game tips off at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night.

A smaller eight-team field on the girls side includes Duchess Park and Kelowna’s Okanagan Mission Huskies and Immaculata Mustangs.

Langley sends the Langley Christian Lightning and Holy Cross Crusaders while Vancouver supplies the Britannia Bruins and York House Tigers.

GWG’s girls get started bright and early with an 8:30 a.m. tipoff vs Holy Cross.

The championship is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
