GW Graham’s senior girls field hockey squad finished 10th overall at the AA B.C. Championships, which were hosted Nov. 7-9 by Crofton House School in Vancouver.

A field of 16 teams was divided in four groups, with the Grizzlies joined by Oliver’s South Okanagan secondary, Vancouver’s Little Flower Academy and Trail’s J. Lloyd Crowe secondary.

GW Graham fell 5-0 to Little Flower and J. Lloyd Crowe and finished group play with a 4-0 win over South Okanagan.

Their 1-2 record was good for third in the group, which bumped them into the consolation bracket.

The team gutted out a 1-0 win in a tense and physical match with Surrey’s Southridge Storm, advancing to a consolation semi-final against Nelson’s LV Rogers secondary. A chilly, rainy, early morning match saw GW Graham win 3-1 and move on to the consolation final where their tournament ended with a loss to Burnaby’s St. Michael’s School.
