GW Graham’s senior girls basketball team captured top spot in the 49th annual Britannia Invitational tournament, hosted last weekend at the Vancouver secondary school.

Deanna Tuchscherer produced 22 points and 15 rebounds in the championship game, a 67-65 Grizzly win over Britannia’s Bruins.

Tuchscherer was named the tournament MVP with Julia Tuchscherer and Sydney Owens getting first all-star team selections. Grade 10 player Kennedy Hall had a breakout performance, pulling down several key rebounds and sinking several momentum-turning shots for GWG.

The Grizzlies are back in tournament mode this weekend as they take on the field at Robert Bateman.
