All-time Chilliwack Chiefs great Jordan Kawaguchi will be on national television this weekend as his North Dakota Fighting Hawks take on the Colorado College Tigers.

The game will be broadcast on TSN2 with a 5 p.m. PST start.

In his second season at North Dakota, Kawaguchi has developed into a top offensive player, leading the team in scoring with three goals and 12 points in 19 games. The Abbotsford native is closing in on the personal bests he set as a freshman last season when he tallied five goals and 19 points in 38 matches.

Kawaguchi’s crew is battling through a tough season in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

North Dakota is 3-5-0 in conference play and sits seventh in the nine-team circuit. Their overall record, including non-conference play, is 9-9-1.

North Dakota is a huge friend of the BCHL, carrying nine of the league’s alums on the 2018-19 roster.

In addition to Kawaguchi they’ve got former Penticton Vees Gabe Bast, Colton Poolman, Nick Jones, Dixon Bowen, Jonny Tychonick, Jackson Keane and Adam Scheel along with Wenatchee Wild grad Jasper Weatherby.

Catch another Chilliwack Chiefs grad on TSN2 tonight (Friday) as Craig Puffer’s Vermont Catamounts take on the UMass (Massachusetts) Minutemen.

Puffer is in his third season at Vermont and is third in team scoring with two goals and 10 points in 18 games.

His game starts at 4 p.m. PST.
