Golden Bears grab another Cascade

The exodus continues for the University Fraser Valley men's basketball team, which is losing a lot of talent to Alberta.

The University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball team continues to lose talent to their former coach.

Barnaby Craddock, now the head coach of the Alberta Golden Bears, has lured starting center Jasper Moedt to Edmonton. Moedt joins shooting guard Joel Friesen, who transferred to the University of Alberta last month.

“Leaving UFV wasn’t easy. It’s been great going there, being in my community, and I’ve learned a lot. But at the same time, I’ve lived my whole life here now, and I feel like I need to move away for personal growth,” Moedt said.

Like Friesen, Moedt will have to red-shirt next season due to transfer rules. Both have two years of playing eligibility left.
