The Fraser Valley Bandits and Richmond’s The Gaming Stadium Esports Inc. are teaming up to launch the BC 2K ISO-Championship, which will feature gamers representing 20 basketball clubs across the province.

Gamers will be playing the popular video game NBA 2K21 on either PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X. Tournaments will begin locally, with the semifinals and finals occurring at The Gaming Stadium on 4211 No. 3 Road in Richmond. The semifinals and finals will be livestreamed online. If semifinalists are unable to attend in-person, they are welcome to compete remotely.

Registration is free and gamers are asked to fill out this form in order to be placed in a bracket. A cash prize will be given to the tournament winner for each respective console.

In addition, 2021 tournament registrants are invited to opt-in to learn more about the Bandits Gaming Club (Bandits GC). Bandits GC will be an inclusive banner that local gamers can unite under for the purpose of organizing friendly competitions, events and more. More details are expected to be shared about Bandits GC in the coming months.

“The Gaming Stadium is proud to present this year’s edition of the Bandits’ BC 2K ISO-Championship. We are proud to invite last year’s contestants for a province-wide tournament that will bring together some of the best NBA 2K21 gamers in British Columbia and beyond,” stated Spiro Khouri, Chief Executive Officer at TGS Esports Inc in a press release “Esports and 2K gaming in particular are booming and having the opportunity to support this championship and host semifinalists and finalists at The Gaming Stadium will be an awesome chance to celebrate the sport’s growing popularity.”

The deadline to register is July 28 at 11:59 p.m. The PS4/PS5 tournaments begin on Aug. 2, while the Xbox tournaments begin on Aug. 16. Registration is open to members of participating basketball clubs, as well as the general public.
