VIDEO: Former Chilliwack Chief continues offensive explosion with North Dakota Fighting Hawks

Former Chilliwack Chiefs captain Jordan Kawaguchi has snared another weekly award in NCAA hockey.

The University of North Dakota star has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week for the second time this season.

Gooch, who is in his third season with the Fighting Hawks, posted six points last weekend as his crew took two from the University of Miami (Ohio).

North Dakota whomped the Red Hawks by a 7-1 count Friday, with Kawaguchi collecting three primary assists.

He netted his third goal of the season and had two more primary helpers Saturday in a 5-4 win.

The Abbotsford product leads his team in scoring this season with 13 points in nine games and his scoring outburst also earned him recognition as the NCAA 3rd Star of the Week.
