Five medals for Chilliwack gymnast

Lanna Hellewell was outstanding at the Twisters Invitational Gymnastics Competition, held last weekend in Abbotsford.

Chilliwack’s Lanna Hellewell earned three gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the 17th annual Twisters Gymnastics Club invitational competition, held last weekend in Abbotsford.

Hellewell represented the hosts in the KIP 2 division, getting gold on the bars, floor and all-around. Her silver medal came on the beam and her bronze medal on the vault.

Other Chilliwackians turned in solid performances.

Megan McLellan snagged three medals in the KIP 2 division, taking gold on the beam, silver on the vault and bronze all-around.

Ella Palmer competed in Provincial 3 Argo, earning silver on the vault and double bronze on the beam and all-around.

Jessica Gibson competed in Provincial 3 Novice, scoring bronze on the vault.

Over 650 athletes from all over B.C. participated, with hundreds of spectators cheering them on.
