Five CSS students awarded for athletic excellence

At Chilliwack secondary school's year end athletics ceremony, five students were honoured as athletes of the year.

Chilliwack secondary school’s top athletes were recognized at a year-end awards ceremony Wednesday, with five students taking home hardware.

Curtis Hrusik was recognized as the Grade 10 male athlete of the year for his work in cross-country, soccer and track and field. Krista Bartel got the nod as Grade 10 female athlete of the year for her work in soccer, field hockey and basketball.

Meindhirt Hinlopen got the award for Grade 11 male athlete of the year, starring on the CSS basketball and golf teams.

The Grade 12 female athlete of the year award went to Adrianna Lunt, a standout in soccer and  track and field.

The Grade 12 male athlete of the year award went to Brendan Janz for his work on the basketball court.
