Everly Royea’s rink qualifies for junior curling provincials

Chilliwack’s Royea, Madeline Britz and Cailin Cooke will all be in Langley Dec. 18-23.

Chilliwack’s Everly Royea and Madeline Britz will curl in the 2018 Boston Pizza B.C. Junior Championships.

Royea skips a rink on the B.C. Junior Curling Tour. Britz is part of her crew along with Tanis Short and Ardis Mellor-Laing. Together they played in five events, including the most recent one on Nov. 13 in Esquimalt. Royea’s rink racked up 146.4375 points, good for fourth place in the standings.

Chilliwack’s Cailin Cooke will also make the trip to provincials as part of a rink skipped by Kamloops native Cierra Fisher. Fisher’s rink placed third in the standings with 147.1875 points.

The 2018 Boston Pizza BC Junior Curling Championships will be held Dec. 18-23 at the Langley Curling Centre, with eight womens’ teams vying for the title.

The final will be livestreamed on Curl BC TV (sportscanada.tv/curlbc).
