Chilliwack’s Brock Machholtz collected his first win in his first Pacific Junior B Hockey League game, backstopping his Abbotsford Pilots to a 3-2 win over the Langley Trappers Sept. 4.

The goaltender stopped 30 pucks in a 3-2 triumph, on a night where his team was out-shot 32-18.

He earned another W Sept. 6, making 25 saves in a 6-1 win over Mission City Outlaws and was the third star Tuesday night, with 41 stops in a 3-2 overtime win over the Delta Ice Hawks.

Machholtz sports a microscopic 1.59 goals-against average and .950 save percentage through three starts for an Abbotsford squad loaded with Chilliwack talent.

The Pilots roster includes defenceman Ethan Rideout, who won a league championship last spring with the Revelstoke Grizzlies.

Dawson Wolf, Mitchell Metcalfe and Tyson Goryniuk are also on the Abby D.

Jared Pitkethly, Reid Dunham, Dylan Campbell, Keith Chester and Sean McCracken are among the team’s forwards.

Pitkethly has been named the team’s captain and Rideout will wear an alternate A.
