Cougars take two from West Kelowna trip

The Chilliwack Cougars swept the West Kelowna Diamondbacks in weekend AAA baseball action.

Chilliwack's midget AAA baseball Cougars absolutely pummeled the West Kelowna Diamondbacks, banging out 26 hits in a 24-0 Saturday afternoon road win.

Mike and Dan Rogers pitched the Cougars to victory, combining for five strikeouts and just two hits allowed.

The Diamondbacks pulled it together for the rematch, and put five runs on the board through two innings. West Kelowna led 6-2 heading into the final inning. But the Cougars loaded the bases on a couple walks, a Donny Moorman hit-by-pitch, Derek Riediger single and Ken Petkau double.

Chilliwack got even at 6-6, then plated the winning run on a Cody Hartle walk-off single.

Riediger, Dan Rogers and Moorman pitched. Moorman got the win, punching out three Diamondback batters over two innings.
