Comeback kids upend Cloverdale

A seventh inning rally gave the Chilliwack mosquito Cougars a thrilling win over one of their top rivals.

Chilliwack’s peewee AA baseball Cougars pulled off a minor upset last weekend, knocking off one of the top teams from Cloverdale.

Dylan Ohlsen pitched six-and-a-third innings  for the Cougars, allowing five runs.

Jared Gibbard finished the game in relief.

The Cougars went into the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 5-4, but Wil Kushniryk led off with a single.

Ohlsen drove him in with a stand-up double, and Liam Scherbey brought Ohlsen home with another double to win the game.

Chilliwack faced North Delta on Sunday, battling to a hard-fought 4-4 tie.
