Chilliwack’s Katherine Klassen scores two in Canada Winter Games win

Klassen’s Team B.C. beat Nova Scotia 8-2 to stay unbeaten at 3-0 in the female hockey tournament.

Chilliwack’s Katherine Klassen and her Team B.C. female hockey squad are perfect through the group stage at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

The Games are being held in Red Deer, Alberta.

Klassen’s crew opened last Sunday with a 6-1 win over Alberta, followed by a 5-1 demolition of Ontario on Monday.

The forward picked up her first points of the tournament Wednesday, scoring twice in an 8-2 whomping of Nova Scotia.

With a 3-0 record, Team B.C. finished atop Pool B while Quebec (3-0) led Pool A and Prince Edward Island (3-0) led Pool C.

The female hockey tournament carries on through Saturday, with the bronze medal game at 9 a.m. and the gold medal match at noon.
