Chilliwack’s Zachary Clay won all-round gold at the Elite Canada gymnastics competition, held Feb. 17-18 in Mississauga, Ont. The Abbotsford Twisters athlete had to cope with adversity, overcoming a pair of uncharacteristic falls to finish first.
While Clay did his thing in Ontario, the Twisters women attended the North Shore Invitational at BCIT (Feb. 10-12). Twenty-seven girls participated, all the way from Kip 2 to the national level.
Chilliwack’s Ella Palmer won first on floor and third on vault, finishing fourth all-around in her division.
