If he didn’t know it before, Chilliwack’s Brendan Williamson now knows that hockey is a business after having his rights swapped in a Western Hockey League trade last week.

The Everett Silvertips sent the 16 year old to the Seattle Thunderbirds in a multi-player deal that landed them a 20 year old sniper (Zach Andrusiak) for their playoff push.

Williamson is playing for the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League’s Fraser Valley Thunderbirds this season.

The forward has collected 10 goals and 36 points in 24 games and got into one BCHL game as an affiliate player with the Coquitlam Express.

Williamson is third in the BCMMHL points race and might be the key piece for Seattle in a trade that also includes several bantam draft picks and a veteran forward.
