Haley Klenk proved she belongs in the pool with the world’s best, turning in a stellar performance at last weekend’s Euro 2020 swim meet in Luxembourg.
Representing Swim B.C., the Chilliwack Spartan competed in the 100 and 200m backstrokes.
After placing 10th in the 100m backstroke preliminary with a time of 1:05.15, she qualified for the A final.
Klenk shaved a finger snap off her time, in the final touching the wall in 1:05.11 to finish ninth.

Klenk was 12th in the 200m backstroke preliminary with a time of 2:20.47, qualifying for the B final where she finished second with a time of 2:17.64.
That time would have put her seventh in the A final.
Another Spartan, Myles Wheeler, competed in the 100 and 200m breaststroke events.
He was 38th in the 100m preliminary with a time of 1:07.24 and 37th in the 200m with a time of 2:27.87.
