Cheam Mountain golfers Chad McAdie and Kevin Stinson tied for eighth overall at the Flora Aasen Memorial Pro-Am.

The one round tournament was played Monday at the Richmond Country Club.

McAdie and Stinson pocketed $675 apiece at the event, shooting one-under-par 71s.

They did so in different ways.

McAdie came out on fire, with birdies on the first three holes. He cooled off from there, carding bogeys on seven, 11 and 14 before picking up another birdy on 17.

Stinson saved his best for last, sinking birdie putts on the last two holes to slide into the top 10.

A third Cheam golfer was also in the mix. Kaleb Fisher tied for 10th overall with an even par 72.

His round was a roller coaster ride.

After three pars to start, Fisher carded a double bogey five on the par-three fourth hole. He birdied three of the next five holes and added birdies on 17 and 18 to pocket $250.

Bryn Parry (Point Grey Golf and Country Club) and Oliver Tubb (University Golf Course) tied for the lead with matching five-under-par 67s, two strokes better than anyone else.

Their split of the first place prize money was $1,750 apiece.

There were 26 golfers in the field.
