Chilliwack goaltender Kate Stuart has been invited to Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Development Team Summer Camp, which runs July 29 to August 9 in Calgary.

Forty players are attending the camp, and being there puts them on the radar for Canada’s national women’s hockey squad heading into the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Stuart, who has a long association with Team BC and Team Canada programs, attended this same camp virtually last year. The 2000-born stopper is one of six netminders invited, looking to build on her recent work with the University of Boston Terriers women’s team.

Stuart just finished her junior season with the Terriers, a COVID disrupted campaign that saw her make five appearances (four starts). She made the most of limited work, posting a 3-1-0 record with a 94.2 save percentage and 1.63 goals-against average.

She made 24 saves Feb. 5 in a shutout of Merrimack

Players at the Canada camp will be split into two teams and participate in practices and intrasquad games. The camp will also feature two scrimmages against Canada’s national women’s team from Aug. 7-9.
