Chilliwack FC family rallies for fundraiser

The youth soccer club has two young players who have been diagnosed with cancer and are facing financial hardship.

Chilliwack FC is running a fundraiser to help the families of two young players who have recently been diagnosed with cancer.

At the Feb. 24 Chilliwack Chiefs game versus the Penticton Vees, $4 from every ticket sold plus the proceeds of the 50/50 draw will be split between the two families.

If Chilliwack FC meets its goal of $10,000, club treasurer Jon Freeman will shave his head, and if the total  hits $15,000, club chairman Andrea Laycock will shave her head.

“It would be amazing if we could have Prospera Centre full of Chilliwack FC jerseys and club wear,” Laycock said. “It would be even more amazing if we sold so many tickets that the Chiefs have to pull the end tarps off to make room for us all!”

The ticket order deadline is Feb. 20.

Phone the Chiefs office at 604-392-4433 for more info or email soccer-coach88@shaw.ca.
