Chilliwack Cougars baseball alum Cade Smith will play ball in Hawaii after turning down the opportunity to go pro.

The pitcher was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 16th round of the Major League Baseball draft in mid-June.

The Twins could not persuade Smith to walk away from a full-ride scholarship at the University of Hawaii.
