Chilliwack Chief signs with St. Scholastica Saints

Chilliwack native Josh Hansen will play hockey in Minnesota next season with the College of St. Scholastica.

It took longer than he would have hoped, but Chilliwack Chiefs forward Josh Hansen has finally found an NCAA hockey home.

The Chilliwack native will play for the Saints of the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota next season.

The Saints compete at the division-three level in a conference that includes schools such as St. Norbert College, Marian University and Adrian College. Hansen rejoins former Chiefs teammate Michael Spring, and will play alongside fellow BCHL grads Ryne Bodger, Bobby Lipsett and Alex Valenti.

Hansen will also join Chiefs alum Tyson Terry, who is entering his third season as an assistant coach with the Saints.

Hansen had a breakout season in 2012-13, posting career highs in goals (22) and assists (19) despite being limited to just 48 games due to injury.

The Chilliwack native spent his entire BCHL career with the Chiefs, going back to the 2010-11 season in Langley.
