Chilliwack hockey star Aynsley D’Ottavio has netted an NCAA commitment.

The defender will join the Quinnipiac Bobcats once she wraps up this season and the next with the Fraser Valley Rush, a U18 AAA team in the BC Elite Hockey League.

The 16-year-old blueliner is having an amazing season with the Rush.

She is fourth in the league in points with 21, just four off the lead. The three players in front of her are forwards and the next highest-scoring defenceman has 13 points.

D’Ottavio’s team has a record of 13-1-0-0 through 14 games, putting them first in the five team circuit.

Quinnipiac University is located in Hamden, Connecticut. The Bobcats are a powerhouse in the East Coast Athletic Conference and D’Ottavio will be playing against the likes of Princeton, Yale, Colgate, Harvard and Cornell.

Quinnipiac has a record of 7-1-0-0 in eight games so far this season, putting them in top spot in the 12-team league.
