Chiefs tumble in national rankings

A 6-4 loss to a very good Prince George squad was enough to drop the Chiefs 14 spots in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League list.

One loss was enough to send the Chilliwack Chiefs tumbling down the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings.

The Top 20 was released Monday, with the Chiefs (5-1-0-0) falling from fourth to 18th.

They are one of three BCHL teams making the list.

The defensively-stifling Merritt Centennials (5-1-0-0) rose from No. 15 to No. 10 with weekend wins over the Vernon Vipers (4-0) and West Kelowna Warriors (2-1).

After earning honourable mention last week, the Penticton Vees (5-1-0-0) zoomed up to No. 14.

The Prince George Spruce Kings (5-1-0-1) earned honourable mention.
