BCHLers suit up for top prospects game

Team West will be loaded with eight BCHL stars as they take on the East in two CJHL prospect showcase games.

Eight BCHLers will play in two CJHL Top Prospects games, taking place this weekend in Nova Scotia.

The games will be played in Digby and Yarmouth, Friday and Saturday.

They are goalie Jeff Smith (Powell River), D-men Alexandre Coulombe (Penticton), Brett Beauvais (Penticton), Mitch Meek (Victoria) and Luke Ripley (Powell River), and forwards Mason Blacklock (Vernon), Nicholas Rasovic (Coquitlam) and Adam Rockwood (Coquitlam).

The CJHL Prospects Game was created to showcase the top NHL prospects in the CJHL. The CJHL Prospects Games feature players from the CJHL's five western leagues competing against players from the CJHL's five eastern leagues.   Player selection for the annual CJHL Prospects Games is a joint initiative of the CJHL and NHL Central Scouting

Pierce of the Merritt Centennials (BCHL) will lead Team West as Head Coach.

“I’m very excited to work with this group of young men this weekend,” he said.  “These players have a tremendous opportunity to showcase themselves and represent their region with pride. I look forward sharing this experience with them, and helping them maximize their efforts in the event.”
