Northern Michigan University commit Kale Howarth is one of three BCHL skaters on the National Hockey League radar right now.

Three BCHL stars are on the latest Central Scouting Bureau watch-list.

National Hockey League scouts will be following Trail Smoke Eaters forward Kale Howarth, Penticton Vees defenceman Griffin Mendel and Vernon Vipers goaltender Ty Taylor.

Each has been assigned a 'C' grade, which indicates potential to be drafted in the fourth through sixth rounds.

Twenty junior A players from across Canada made the watch-list, 17 of them earning the 'C' designation.

Cale Makar is the biggest exception. The Brooks Bandits (AJHL) defenceman has been assigned an A grade, which puts him on the radar as a potential first round pick in next June's NHL entry draft.

Cameron Crotty of the Central Canadian Hockey League's Brockville Braves and Ian Mitchell of the AJHL's Spruce Grove Saints are B-level prospects as potential second or third round picks.
