Three BCHL stars are on the latest Central Scouting Bureau watch-list.

National Hockey League scouts will be following Trail Smoke Eaters forward Kale Howarth, Penticton Vees defenceman Griffin Mendel and Vernon Vipers goaltender Ty Taylor.

Each has been assigned a ‘C’ grade, which indicates potential to be drafted in the fourth through sixth rounds.

Twenty junior A players from across Canada made the watch-list, 17 of them earning the ‘C’ designation.

Cale Makar is the biggest exception. The Brooks Bandits (AJHL) defenceman has been assigned an A grade, which puts him on the radar as a potential first round pick in next June’s NHL entry draft.

Cameron Crotty of the Central Canadian Hockey League’s Brockville Braves and Ian Mitchell of the AJHL’s Spruce Grove Saints are B-level prospects as potential second or third round picks.
