Graduating West Kelowna Warriors defenceman Brett Zarazun has committed to Mount Royal University for the 2013-14 season.
The six-foot-two blueliner joins the Cougars after playing 54 games for the Warriors last season. He had three goals and 18 points, doing his best work in his own zone.
“He played against other teams' top lines all year and was an outstanding penalty killer,” said Warriors head coach and general manager Rylan Ferster. “His ability to move pucks away from pressure was fantastic. You really have to watch him day in and day out to appreciate what he can bring to the table.”
Mount Royal is part of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association (CWUAA).
