BCHL extra: Seven skaters on midterm draft rankings

Seven BCHL skaters are on the National Hockey League draft radar, with the Central Scouting Bureau releasing its mid-term rankings.

The National Hockey League's Central Scouting Bureau released its midterm rankings this week, and seven BCHLers make the list of draft-eligible prospects.

Prince George Spruce Kings forward Jujhar Khaira is top BCHLer, checking in at No. 80. His PG teammate, Paul De Jersey, is listed at N0. 203.

Coquitlam Express forward Alex Kerfoot comes in one spot behind Khaira at No. 81, followed by Salmon Arm's Morgan Zulinick (104th), Merritt's Reece Wilcox (114th), Surrey's Devon Toews (181st) and Penticton's Wade Murphy (204th).

Khaira, Kerfoot, Zulinick, Toews and Wilcox are all 1994-born players. Murphy is a 1993 and De Jersey a 1992.

The BCHL had two players chosen last June.

Victoria Grizzlies forward Joel Lowry went in the fifth round to the Los Angeles Kings and Salmon Arm Silverbacks blueliner Josh Manson was picked by the Anaheim Ducks in the sixth round.
