BCHL extra: Gould honourable mention as player of the week

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Malcolm Gould was considered a candidate for the BCHL's player of the week award.

Trail Smoke Eaters forward Erik Cooper has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 22.

Cooper scored a dramatic, double-overtime penalty shot goal on the road to defeat the Salmon Arm SilverBacks, recording two goals and an assist in the win.

The Anchorage, Alaska helped the Smokies to a 2-1 record and totaled two goals and three assists for the week.

Trail visits Chillwiack Saturday night.

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Malcolm Gould was one of four honourable mentions. Gould had two goals, three assists and a second star selection, helping  his team to wins over the Prince George Spruce Kings and Westside Warriors.

Penticton Vees goaltender Michael Garteig and Nanaimo Clippers Dan Correale (forward) and Billy Faust (goaltender) were also in the running.
