Basketball Day comes to Chilliwack

The Chilliwack Sports Academy is expecting a healthy turnout at their first annual Basketball Day in Chilliwack.

The Chilliwack Sports Academy is expecting 100-plus kids Saturday at the first annual Basketball Day in Chilliwack.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Promontory Save-On-Foods.

Sonic FM will have their Community Cruiser on site, and there will be prizes and giveaways from Basketball BC. CSA is also accepting donations of used sports equipment.

The whole event is designed to promote physical activity for kids and introduce them to CSA.

Parents and kids will play basketball with the academy’s coaches, and have the chance to  sign up for the next Steve Nash Youth Basketball program.

The Steve Nash program is the flagship offering for the academy.

Typically starting in January, it gives youngsters a chance to learn the fundamentals in a fun environment.

The program has been so popular that CSA will now be offering it in September as well.

CSA runs many other programs, providing preschool soccer, golf for kids, summer camps and youth mentoring. Get more info online at chilliwacksportsacademy.com.
