So here it is from someone who doesn’t appreciate driving on a bumpy, rough road, to say it mildly.

I have to echo Alston Lee’s letter of March 8 (Prest Road needs upgrade). My family has experienced two almost tragic/fatal accidents on that road in the past 10 years. First incident was my wife taking my son to a football practice. Another on coming vehicle, started to veer into her lane, and my wife having to actually get into the on coming lane to get out of the way.

When the devastating 9.0 earthquake struck off Japan’s east coast Friday, it was so powerful it not only shifted Japan’s largest island eastward by 2.4 metres but it shifted the Earth’s axis by 25 cm.

I am writing this letter because I am a concerned taxpayer in the Chilliwack (Sardis) area. I am very uneasy with the fire protection we presently have.

Chuck Strahl’s decision to not seek re-election draws to a close a career that has spanned one of the more fascinating periods in Canadian politics. And it leaves a hole in Ottawa that will be difficult to fill.
