Twice this week I have gone through the drive- through at Tim Hortons and twice someone has cut in front of me in the lineup, but with that said both times I went to pay and those people have paid for my coffee.

Quiz Night was sold out! The library was vibrant full of friendly rivalry and laughter! The competition for the Smarty Pants award was fierce.

I read today that $547,000 of funding through Environment Canada to the Canadian Environmental Network (CEN) is not being renewed. The CEN is a network that facilitates interaction between the government of Canada and over 600 environmental groups, helping the government to leverage the expertise and volunteer resources of those many groups.

The protest against big business and big banks this weekend seemed more like a pick-a-grunt-day than anything focused and organized. There were more questions on what it was about than on a central issue with reachable solutions.

Today I attended Chilliwack Connect at the First Avenue Alliance Church The promoters and organizers should truly pat themselves on the back. It was wonderful – so many people from all walks of life enjoying the talents of others.

We too were visiting Americans and had our tires slashed. This was so unlike the past experiences we have had in Canada. In fact we lived in Saskatchewan for ten years and never experienced any anti-American sentiment.

Finally, somebody in the B.C. treaty negotiation system has come out and said it. Ottawa needs to get serious.

Having just finished Thanksgiving, we in the Fraser Valley have much for which to give thanks. This is especially true of all the sport fisherman who have excellent access to the wonderful Vedder River which has been producing some excellent catches of coho and chinook salmon this past week.

Who hasn’t left a funny prank comment on a friend’s Facebook wall, or had a friend upload a goofy photo of you at a less than flattering moment? It’s all in good fun, right? Maybe not.

Don’t show your cleavage here, there, anywhere, and not in my backyard (as the saying goes). Reason is: yours, mine, and our men can’t help but ogle!
