Piece of Promontory history a nice surprise

Mr. Fraser, thank you, for the book, for the history, and most of all, for reminding us what is important on this beautiful June day!

How often are we humbled by a complete stranger?  Getting up this morning I was grumping about our June-uary weather.  I grumped my way to the kitchen, grumped as I had coffee and grumped as I started folding the laundry.  My hubby came in with the newspaper and an extra surprise.  There was a booklet called ‘A Penny by the Front Gate’ with a note inside saying, “Hi, My name is George Fraser and I live in Abbotsford.  The first seven years of my life was spent on a 20-acre farm situated on the South East corner of Promontory and Tesky Rd. (Where you now live.) This was during the Great Depression when times were tough.  Nothing much happened way back then, but I hope this will give you a little insight of Promontory 75-80 years ago.  There is no charge and everyone on this acreage shall receive a booklet.  Have a nice day!”

Mr. Fraser, thank you, for the book, for the history, for the pictures and most of all, for reminding us what is important on this beautiful June day!
