LETTER: Positive surgical experience at Chilliwack General Hospital amid COVID-19

‘I have full confidence in the hospital to take care of me’

I was scheduled to have umbilical hernia surgery at the end of March at Chilliwack General Hospital. Unfortunately surgery was put on hold because of COVID-19. When the hospital started a soft re-opening of day surgeries last week, an opening came up and I immediately took it.

I am so impressed with the great job both the hospital and my surgical team did. Everything went smoothly, the hospital is immaculate and I never felt at risk. I want to thank everyone who was working last Thursday in the day surgery department, my surgeon Dr. Zrobeck, and his office assistant Kelly for everything they have done for me.

Prior to this I had used the hospital for lab work, X-rays, CT scans, pain assessment and mammograms. Now that I have laparoscopic surgery behind me I have full confidence in the hospital to take care of me.
