In response to “Yes to vaccinations, no to passports,” letter to the editor, Chilliwack Progress, Oct. 8 2021.

It is good to see someone making the distinction between choosing to be vaccinated and embracing a vaccine passport system. As someone who is now excluded from places I once enjoyed, I wonder at the logic of such a system.

If the goal was to reach herd immunity, then surely natural immunity would be part of the picture.

What is the sense in pressuring those who have had COVID and recovered to receive the vaccine? Natural immunity can be tested for in a lab and should be acknowledged in some way.

It seems ironic in a culture where there are “anti bullying” policies in all our institutions, society has accepted bullying tactics that shame or exclude those who have chosen to not be vaccinated.

I am thankful that some can see the hurt and division these policies and sentiments are causing.
