The April 8 Chilliwack Progress displayed two letters, both very well written, describing the extremes of views pertaining to the welfare of populations inundated with the plague of COVID-19. For me it set the scene of the vast majority of the people of Canada, determined to do the very best they could, in all circumstances, to protect families, friends, neighbours and strangers from a very threatening condition. Our workers in the fields of medical assistance, in all its avenues, went so far above and beyond what may be considered devotion. Doctors placed in positions of authority displayed calm diligence in gaining and defining the advice necessary to avoid contamination and spread of this terrible disease and governmental ministers who provided the mandates required to follow the principles advised.

The consequence of such actions is clearly displayed by the results displayed in the letter by Pauline Harms.

The letter from Darrell Johnson, just as clearly, displays the views of the small minority of people who saw only the freedoms which we all so lovingly enjoy, sadly taken from us.
