I like most of Canada have no intention on becoming a resident of the U.S.A. in any manner and have cancelled what was a regular trip for months to the U.S. this year. This current conflict will pass, but we will all likely endure a serious economic hit for several years.

Our B.C. political leaders seem incapable of recognizing there is little we can do about the situation other than consumer boycotts and buying Canadian.

Cutoff electricity, no, we import 15 to 20 per cent from them.

Do as Eby said, perhaps tariff the highways to Alaska or as Rustad says, tariff coal from Wyoming going through our ports.

So then Trump decides to close I-5 to Mexican goods coming here or put an export tax on items to Canada.

It is time to emphasize shop at Canadian retailers, buy Canadian goods.

Develop trade with other countries. China is the source of 90 per cent of the battery storage. We need to become independent with wind and solar, let's start there and then consider they also have battery-electric cars and buses.

Let's not cut off our nose in spite of our face. Now we know we actually have to stand up and become independent.
