While we are led to believe that the huge increase in the price of gas is due mostly to the atrocity that is happening in Ukraine, frankly that is not the case.

Having worked for an oil company for quite a few years I was aware that this company, which was small and only in Quebec and Ontario, had millions of barrels of oil in reserve, obviously purchased much cheaper many moons ago. So, they are charging us this new ridiculous price only to boost their profits.

Similarly, they are doing the same in the Fraser Valley as we do not pay the Metro Vancouver gas tax of 17 cents yet frequently the prices in the valley are the same or even exceed the Vancouver prices. It is all about the oil companies, not the Ukraine conflict.

We need a government agency to look into this as many people will be severely affected by this outrageous problem.
